Semicon-Symposium-Aug'24


Semiconductor Association Pune conducted a "Semicon - Symposium - Aug'24" on 10th Aug 2024 at C-DAC Innovation Park, Pashan Pune.
It is first of its kind Tech Event in Pune where Chip Industry Professionals, Students, Academia and Entrepreneurs participated and engaged in insightful discussions with the Keynote Speakers. Event was attended by about 120+ Participants, which included Site Leads of many Fabless Semiconductor Companies in Pune, Industry Professionals, Head of the Electronics Department (or their representatives) and Students of many reputed Colleges in Pune (COEP Technological University, Pune Institute of Computer Technology, Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust'S. Pimpri Chinchwad College Of Engineering, Vishwakarma Institute Of Technology, Symbiosis Institute of Technology) .
The event was focussed on Computing Technologies and current trends in the industry.
Mr Kuttappa Bittiananda (Kutts) GM and Country Manager Imagination Technologies delivered a Keynote on "RISC-V for Embedded, Automotive and HPC Applications"
Mr Sanjay Wandhekar, Senior Director and Head HPC Technology at CDACINDIA, Pune shared the advancements in HPC technologies at CDAC . This included the history of development of wide range of PARAM series of Super Computers , its contribution to National Super Computing Mission. The recent announcement of CDAC developing an indigenous HPC Processor (AUM) was discussed and received very well by the audience.

Mr Romesh Mehta, Managing Director and Site Head, India Design Center, ScaleFlux spoke about challenges in scaling Hardware for AI. His keynote on "Computational Storage for Next Gen AI" was very impactful and created a lot of curiosity amongst the participants.

The event also had a segment on Appreciating Pune's Talent in this field. Mr Vinay Ashok Somanache, Mr. Gaurav Bhojané and Mr Anil B Dongare who have US Patent granted on their name in the field of Chip Design were presented the "Innovation Award" Titled "Inventor from Pune"

An engaging QnA with each Speaker after their Keynote gave opportunity to participants to learn more about these Technical Topics.
At the informal gathering at the end of the event, during Hi-Tea people were highly appreciative of this initiative and had good feedback and suggestions for the next activities and event.

The event concluded with lot of positive energy with many people interested to contribute to the cause Semiconductor Association Pune is working on.
